Society’s Values, McDonalds and the Olympic Games

Any media text can tell us a lot about the society that made it at a particular time and place. McDonalds were a major sponsor of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, creating television ads in many countries around the world hoping to align themselves with the discourses that surround the olympics such as respect, athleticism fair play and what it takes to be a winner.
